Matt Maran’s new book ‘Vancouver Island, Barkley to Clayoquot’ is a photographic document with over 100 full-colour images of Vancouver Island’s west coast. Divided into three main sections — Ocean, Coast, and Forest — it features photographs of black bears, whales, eagles, sea lions, sea otters, and cedar trees, annotated with information on animal behavior, conservation, and personal recollections of Matt’s experiences and photographic techniques.

The book is printed locally in Vancouver by Hemlock Printers and is 100% carbon neutral. It is self published and available to buy from Matt’s own publishing company, Hemisphere. The book is also available to buy at Amazon.ca,andAmazon.co.uk, in bookstores throughout the west coast including Tofino and Ucluelet. In Victoria it’s available at The Royal BC Museum, Munro's and Russell books and Tanner’s in Sidney.
