Matt returns to the west coast of Vancouver Island for a series of exhibitions at the 24th annual Whale Festival:
At the 24th annual Whale Festival Matt featured with the 'Artists In Action' at 4 different venues across the west coast, sharing space with other great artists from the area, Matt had the opportunity to showcase some of his fine art prints for the first time. This included a 5 day long exhibition and interactive experience at the Media Lounge. A new type of gallery space with multi media and interactive features ………
“The Media Lounge is a space filled with coastal sensory experiences. Let your heart slow down to the pace of a grey whale, or your eyes quicken to the speed of an eagle. It is here that you will come in contact with images, sounds, textures, & patterns … all combined to fulfill one’s senses. The interactive gallery will continually provide a dynamic space for artists to exhibit work, for scientists to share an important fact, or a warm soul to tell an important story” (Jason Niles, Creative Director).
Matt is on course for publication of his first book which will be a gathering of some of his finest images from the west coast. Due to be released at 25th anniversary of Whale Festival 2011 Matt has laid the groundwork for a series of exhibtions and presentations across the Island including the world famous Vancouver Aquarium.
